Re: First Years Arrive « Result #1 on Jul 29, 2007, 7:25pm »
Harry Potter looked nervously around, sqinting at the torches along the corridor. This was a very different place, he wasn't used to the fact that there was no electricity, no adults to boss him around. Yet, at least. He didn't know that soon a professor would come and guide him to the sorting hat, where he would be sorted into one of four houses. He looked around for the boy he had met on the train. Harry looked at the ground as he thought about the redhead. He remembered that the boy had said his name was Ron Weasley. He wasn't one of the kids Harry had seen running around at the elementary school Harry had attended. He blew some hair out of his eyes, patting down the robe he was required to wear. This place was so new, somewhat awkward. However he felt great to be away from the Dursleys, almost relieved. He smiled widely as he thought about how he wouldn't see them for a whole year. His fingers played with his sleeves, eyes twinkling with suspense as he wondered what would happen next.

Days of the Marauders « Result #5 on Jul 26, 2007, 12:58am »
Days of the Marauders It is the year of 1976-this means the Marauders (James, Sirius, Lupin, Wormtail) are 16 and in their 6th year of Hogwarts education. They're not the only ones attending the school, though-there are Bellatrix Black, Narcissa Black, Lucius Malfoy, Regulus Black, Rodolphus Lestrange, Severus Snape and plenty of others.
Hogwarts is a school like any other-there's love, deceit, gossip, fights, everything. Will your character end up dating James Potter, Sirius Black, or Lily Evans? Since we don't really stick to the book here, anything is possible! Just don't have James fall in love with Snape and such! Keep their personalities IC.
Although the Dark Lord has not yet risen to the fullest power, he is out there and slowly gathering followers. Will your character be one of the very first to join him, or will they stand up to him and fight him? This also is up to you...

Re: Completed Discussion (SPOILERS!) « Result #7 on Jul 24, 2007, 3:46am »
Finished the book yesterday. One of my friends stayed up all night on the 21st just finish reading it. o.O I can't believe Fred, Lupin and Tonks died!! So sad. ='[ And George losing an ear... when they make the movie I'm not gonna be too keen on seeing that... Liked the action during the battle though. Beautifully described. Its nice how she cleared Snape's name and brought Ron and Hermione together - they were a little annoying in the beginning though. Now this has really been annoying me: ALBUS SEVERUS POTTER?!?! What kind of name is that!! Be bloody embarrassing... Anywho, what did y'all think of the last book?

Kirsten Mackenzie « Result #9 on Jul 24, 2007, 3:10am »
Name: Kirsten Mackenzie [friends just call her Kenzie] Age: 11 Gender: Female House: Gryffindor Wand: 11 ½ inches, ash and unicorn hair Group: N/A Appearance: Kirsten holds a fairly pleasant expression most of the time, ‘cept when she is concentrating or angry. Her facial features are pretty plain, not the sort you’d remember after a first glance. Almond-shaped eyes are a grayish-green, a throwback to her Scottish ancestors. When staring they can appear quite intense, especially when Kirsten is working on a particularly difficult spell. Kenzie’s mouth is equally full, top and bottom, and looks much nicer when she is smiling. A small, delicate nose is just waiting to be broken – truly amazing that it hasn’t happened yet. Kirsten’s complexion definitely displays her northern heritage; quite fair and prone to sunburn. Pale golden hair feathers Kenzie’s countenance and is cut to end just beneath her shoulders at the back. Long hair has never suited Kirsten, though she is considering cutting it shorter.
Kenzie is of normal height for her age and very slim. The strength of Kirsten’s arms is not remarkable in the least, but she can sprint for short periods of time. Kenzie will wear practically anything, even a dress. She particularly favors her House colors, scarlet and gold, but also has a partiality towards forest greens and all shades of blue. Kirsten doesn’t wear jewelry or make-up unless the occasion demands it, and even then she will not go overboard. A clear nail-polish is what Kenzie wears, or perhaps a lighter tone of pink. Kirsten walks with a spring in her step due to two things; nicely arched feet and a generally cheerful personality. Personality: Coming from a happy, well-off family has given Kirsten a unique perspective – mainly because she has never suffered with the death of a family member or friend at the brutal hands of the Dark Lord. Certainly heard about his mighty power and utter cruelty and truly despised him for it, but Kirsten’s still-young mind doesn’t quite grasp the danger he posed when at the height of his ability. Therefore it is safe to say that a portion of her bravery is certainly due to ignorance. The Mackenzies’ weren’t exactly known for their guts – Ravenclaw was always the House of choice. But during the era of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, it was cleverness that accepted the need for change. The prime example of this change is Kirsten.
Nay, do not be fooled into thinking this young witch is stupid – far from it – but she still a far cry from the genius that is important when getting into Ravenclaw. A bad habit of taking revenge on those who annoy her keep Kenzie out of Hufflepuff, but her uncaring policy towards power and might rule out Slytherin. That leaves Gryffindor, the House Kirsten dreaming about entering and proudly wearing the famed gold and crimson. But let it not be said that Kenzie is only in Gryffindor because none of the other Houses fit – Kirsten is infinitely loyal to her friends and would defend their [and her own] honor with all of her courage and conviction.
Kirsten does not quite measure up to the measure of a model student – her serious flaw lies with keeping her mouth shut when provoked. Whether it be an incantation that erupts or scathing words, Kirsten [almost] always feels remorse afterwards. Especially when her wrong-doing lands her in detention. Kenzie is also unnaturally adventurous – adventurous meaning she is willing to try new foods or perhaps even go out at night if there is a really good reason. And coming from a long line of conservative wizards and witches, that’s saying something, even if her family does reproach her from time to time.
Kenzie enjoys activities that bring a rush of exhilaration to her face and leave her with a sense of accomplishment. Flying is one of those hobbies, though Kirsten prefers to fly for fun, not actually playing in Quidditch. Transfiguration is also quite exciting for Kirsten, but she can’t say the same thing for Potions or History. Kenzie is ambivalent towards the rest of the subjects, and looks forward to being able to choose her own subjects in a few years. In the Muggle realm, Kirsten loves roller coasters and water rides, especially those at Thorpe Park. Zip-wiring is definitely counted among Kirsten’s favorite pastimes, though she does hold a certain fondness for parasailing. Kenzie cannot wait until she is old enough to go bungee-jumping and skydiving, two adventurous goals that her parents fear. There are a few sports though that Kirsten hates; basketball, baseball, and American football. They just annoy her to no end. Lineage: Aaron Mackenzie – Father, Half-blood, Scottish Alisa Mackenzie – Mother, Pureblood, Scottish Corey Mackenzie – Brother, owns a cake shop in Hogsmead Donna Mackenzie – Sister, Cornell University History: The youngest of three children, Kirsten grew up well-versed in the magical community, unlike the unfortunate Harry Potter. Though their family was Scottish, Aaron and Alisa moved to London five years after having Corey and Donna, Kirsten’s elder brother and sister. A year later Corey began demonstrating the early signs of wizardry, though sadly Donna remained impotent. A few weeks after the twins turned 10 Kirsten was conceived. At age 11 Corey received the letter of invitation from Hogwarts just as his parents had before him. Aaron and Alisa were careful to maintain an air of absolute equality between their two children as to not provoke any jealousy, though it later became obvious that their worry was not needed. Donna remained whole-heartedly supportive of her brother, saying that she had other career paths in mind anyway. Alisa was inwardly disappointed though – she had so wanted her oldest daughter to succeed in the magical community. But there was still Kirsten, and Alisa never lost hope.
Kenzie was born during the winter before Corey was to begin his first year – December 24th to be precise. Donna was excelling in school and was very excited to have her own baby sister, whom she secretly hoped would be a Squib like herself. Over the next few years Kirsten would show the magical abilities appropriate to her age, thus qualifying herself for an invite to Britain’s most prestigious magical school, Hogwarts. By then Corey had graduated and established a successful cake shop in Hogsmead and Donna was pursuing an Applied Physics degree in Cornell University, U.S.A. Everything was quite alright, with You-Know-Who’s mysterious disappearance several years before and the prosperity that the Mackenzie’s were now enjoying.
Kirsten had heard rumors flying around [quite literally – owls had become all the rage for communication] that the Boy Who Lived, that is to say, Harry Potter, was to make his debut at school the same year that Kirsten would! Like all wizarding families, Kenzie’s had practically memorized the story of young Harry’s victory over the Dark Lord and how he bore a lightning shaped scar on his forehead. Words could not express how curious Kirsten was – would he be arrogant? Clever? Conceited? So many questions! The young witch felt no abandon when it came to seeking out the most celebrated wizard of the day.
